New York – April 10, 2014 – Ipreo, a leading global provider of market intelligence and productivity software to both corporate investor relations and capital markets professionals, announced that it has hired Jimmy Xia to become part of its Global Markets Intelligence team. Xia will be based in New York, and dedicated to servicing US-listed Chinese companies.
Xia has 10 years of experience in Investor Relations and Financial Research, in the US and China. Prior to joining Ipreo he held Head of Investor Relations roles at two US-listed public companies based in Beijing, most recently at AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc., and previously at ChinaEdu Corporation. He began his career as a Senior Research Associate at Capital IQ in New York.
Ipreo’s Global Markets Intelligence (GMI) service provides clients with actionable intelligence on the identity and motivation behind institutional shareholder ownership movements, trading activity, and investor perceptions to enable companies to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of IR programs around the world.
With significant operations in both New York and Hong Kong and clients across Greater China, Ipreo has a deep expertise on the current and potential investor base for these companies and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by US-listed Chinese companies. Xia’s hire is a testament to Ipreo’s commitment to investing in, and servicing this growing and important market segment with dedicated, knowledgeable, and industry-experienced staff.
“Jimmy’s tenure as an IRO for two Chinese companies listed in the US, combined with his capital markets experience and Mandarin language background, make him an ideal choice to manage our relationships with this rapidly developing segment of our client base,” said Chris Taylor, EVP & Managing Director, Global Investor Relations at Ipreo. “Additionally, Jimmy has been a client of Ipreo’s throughout his time at AsiaInfo, and was very engaged with the GMI team at Ipreo that worked with AsiaInfo on a daily basis through to the day the Privatization was confirmed at the shareholders meeting. We are delighted that Jimmy, on moving to New York, agreed to join Ipreo and add his experience and knowledge to the GMI team.”
