Pan-African private equity firm joins iLEVEL’s fast-growing client base in the EMEA region
iLEVEL, the leading portfolio monitoring, analytics and data management platform for the global private capital markets, has been selected by DPI to manage their portfolio data.
Established in 2007, DPI is a leading private equity firm with over USD$1 billion in assets under management. DPI’s funds invest across the African continent in companies benefiting from the fast-growing emerging middle class.
“With the firm’s investment portfolio undergoing rapid growth, we needed a solution that could be implemented quickly and enable us to scale operations confidently,” said Rose Fletcher, Chief Financial Officer. “After evaluating a number of solutions, we decided iLEVEL would enable us to centralise data across a diverse portfolio and allow us to focus on portfolio management and enhanced reporting to our investors.”
DPI’s second fund, which closed in March 2015, was significantly oversubscribed. iLEVEL will help the firm manage the increased activity associated with this continued success.
“Many investment firms in the EMEA region are growing rapidly and actively looking for solutions that can help them keep up with the reporting needs of their investors,” said Melissa Ferraz, Vice President, Client Development of iLEVEL. “Year to date, our EMEA client base has tripled, and as this region continues to benefit from a strong outlook and continued interest among investors, we look forward to welcoming more clients like DPI to the iLEVEL community.”
The number of firms on iLEVEL has doubled in the past year and includes alternative investment firms of varying sizes that employ a wide range of investment strategies including Private Equity, Real Estate, Credit and Venture Capital. Leading LPs and Funds of Funds are also adopting iLEVEL. More than 5,500 iLEVEL users span the globe, tracking over a billion data points across nearly 62,000 portfolio companies.
Founded in 2007, DPI’s investment process combines rigorous analysis with comprehensive due diligence. The firm seeks out compelling investment opportunities and aims to obtain exclusive terms, rational pricing and strong influence. The investment philosophy places great importance on working closely with the funds’ portfolio companies to create value while looking for attractive exit opportunities throughout the funds’ investment period. DPI invests in profitable or cash-flow positive companies which are growing either organically or through acquisitions, or partnering with established corporations expanding into new regions in Africa. DPI currently advises two pan-African private equity funds, African Development Partners I (“ADP I”) and African Development Partners II (“ADP II”). For more information, visit www.dpi-llp.com.
