In U.S. economic news, the U.S. trade balance widened in January to $45.7 billion from a downwardly-revised $44.7 billion in December, more than the $44.0 billion that economists estimated. Elsewhere, Eurozone retail sales climbed 0.4% in January, following a revised 0.6% increase in the prior month, and above an expected 0.1% rise. Lastly, Hong Kong’s retail sales fell 6.5% year-over-year in January following an 8.5% decline in December; sales have been dropping since March of 2015.
