Ipreo Global ECM Review: The Week Ended January 23, 2015

In U.S. economic news, the NAHB Housing Market Index read at 57 in January, unchanged from December’s 57 reading and missing consensus expectations of 58. Elsewhere, survey results from the ZEW Centre for European Economic Research showed German economic confidence rising to 48.4 in January from 34.9 in December. Meanwhile, Japan’s PMI inched up to 52.1 in January from 52.0 in December, while the country’s supermarket sales dropped by a seasonally adjusted 1.8% year-on-year in December, following November’s 0.7% decline.
