Ipreo Global ECM Review: The Week Ended December 9, 2016

In U.S. economic news, the trade balance for October showed a $42.6B deficit, below both the prior-period’s upwardly-revised $36.2B deficit, and expectations of a $41.8B deficit. Elsewhere, U.K. construction output fell 0.6% in October, reversing from last month’s revised 0.9% gain, and below economists’ estimates of a 0.2% increase. Finally, GDP in Japan’s third-quarter was revised down to an expansion of 0.3% from the preliminary reading of 0.5%, and falling below expectations of 0.5%.
