Ipreo Global ECM Review: The Week Ended August 29, 2014

In U.S. economic news, August consumer confidence came in at 92.4 succeeding July’s reading of 90.9, while the Case-Shiller 20-city Index jumped 8.1% in June, down from the prior-month’s 9.3% rise. Elsewhere, the Eurozone Leading Index inched up 0.3% on-month in July compared to a 0.1% rise in the previous month. Additionally, Eurozone inflation receded to 0.3% from July’s 0.4% clip, in-line with economists’ expectations. Meanwhile, Chinese industrial profits increased at a slower pace in July as the National Bureau of Statistics reported an increase of 13.5% year-over-year, following the prior-month’s 17.9% climb.
