In U.S. economic news, the trade balance increased to -$35.4 billion in February from a downwardly-revised -$42.7 billion, besting economists’ forecasts of -$42.0 billion. Meanwhile, the U.K. saw a Q4 year-over-year increase in GDP of 3.0%, surpassing consensus forecasts calling for a 2.7% uptick, and edging ahead of the previous 2.8% advance. Separately, Japan’s auto sales dropped 13.1% in March, following February’s 14.2% decline.
