Ipreo Global ECM Review: The Week Ended April 17, 2015

In U.S. economic news, March PPI climbed 0.2%, compared to a decline of 0.5% in February, and missing economists’ forecasts of 0.4%, while core PPI ascended 0.2%, up from a previous 0.5% dip. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in the U.K. fell to 5.6% in the three months to February from 5.8% in the prior period, matching economists’ expectations. This is the lowest rate seen since 2008. Elsewhere, China’s GDP expanded 7.0% on year in the first quarter of 2015, slowing from the previous quarter’s 7.3% rise and matching economists’ expectations.
