In U.S. economic news, personal income for February expanded 0.2%, topping forecasts of 0.1%, while personal spending grew 0.1%, matching consensus estimates. Separately, the Eurozone’s manufacturing growth improved to 51.6 in March, rising from 51.2 in February, and higher than the 51.4 expected by economists. While manufacturing activity in China contracted at the slowest rate in 13 months as the manufacturing Purchasing Manager’s Index read 49.7 in March, higher than the prior month’s 48.0 reading, and topping economists’ expectations of a 48.3 reading.
