The Ipreo crew wrapped up another successful NIRI Annual Conference last week in San Diego. Not only does NIRI give us the opportunity to spend quality time with our clients and prospects, it’s also a great event to launch new initiatives and thought-leadership pieces.
Chris Taylor, Ipreo’s EVP of Global Research, Thought Leadership & Partnerships, has a summary of our week in San Diego.
BD Corporate – The improvements keep coming!
Ipreo’s market-leading investment community database and CRM keeps moving forward under the leadership of Agnies Watson and her development team. At NIRI we gave demos of the new analytics visuals and functionality that will hit BD Corporate in July and the vision for the product for the next 12 months and beyond. The feedback we received was terrific and we will continue to engage with our clients to help inform our development priorities as we move forward. See for yourself what’s coming next on BD Corporate.
Corporate Access Study
NIRI was also the launch site of Ipreo’s sixth annual study on global corporate access trends from the perspective of issuers. Both IROs and corporate access providers are readers of the study, which provides insights and benchmarks for companies in all regions and all market-cap ranges. Among many of the interesting takeaways is a material increase in the usage of virtual investor meetings. We think virtual meetings are just at the beginning of wider acceptance by issuers, sell-side sponsors, and investors.
Options Guide for IROs
Ipreo has been analyzing equity options activity and discussing the use of options, primarily OTC options, by activists from the start of our corporate IR business in 2006. My colleague Rob Perle led a team effort to put together a comprehensive guide to options and options trading strategies specifically for IROs. Get it here and please feel free to contact your Ipreo analyst with any questions.
At the 2015 NIRI Annual Conference in Chicago, Ipreo launched its new Corporate Governance solution delivered via the BD Corporate platform. Our view, that corporate governance was becoming a more important part of the IROs remit and the link between IR and the GC/Corporate Secretary’s office would strengthen, was confirmed at this year’s conference, as Corporate Governance was one of the three featured “learning tracks.” Ipreo moderated a vibrant panel discussion on the convergence of IR and Governance that featured representatives from IR, the General Counsel’s office and the buy side. A few thoughts on this topic were also shared by yours truly in an interview with IR Magazine.
Be on the lookout for the upcoming issue of BetterIR.
